Maximising Supply Chain Efficiency in the FMCG Sector through Automation

The challenge
The client operated a high-SKU distribution network where picking and dispatch were almost entirely manual. Peak-season throughput was limited by labour availability rather than by capacity, and order accuracy dropped exactly when volume was highest.
- Manual picking limiting peak throughput
- Order accuracy falling under volume pressure
- No real-time visibility of stock position
- Dispatch scheduling driven by spreadsheets
Our approach
SAAR delivered an integrated solution rather than a set of isolated machines: automated palletising and depalletising at the dispatch end, barcode and vision verification at each transfer point, and a data layer integrating directly with the client's existing warehouse management system.
The rollout was staged so the facility never stopped shipping. Each phase was proven at production rate before the next was installed.
